Conservation and Management of Biodiversity and Fragile Ecosystems Back

The forests have a great value derived by its functions of generating goods and services essential for human life and activities; knowing such values in monetary terms allows the correct allocation of resources for its conservation and sustainable utilization.

The present study’s main objective is to estimate the costs and benefits of establishing the Allpahuayo-Mishana National Reserve (ZRAM from its Spanish initials), with the purpose of suggesting policy measures that target efficient distributional effects of the same. Additionally, an economic analysis of the carbon sequestration services performed in the area influenced by the Iquitos-Nauta highway (AICIN from its Spanish initials) was carried out.
